Sir Elton John has admitted he’s ready to stop as he bids farewell to touring around the world.
At the age of 75, the music legend is (finally) on his epic tour to say goodbye after 52 years of delighting audiences on the road.
Having first began his final tour in September 2018, he’s now reaching the final dates, with only three concerts left in North America over the next few days, as part of his ongoing Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
Speaking about it all coming to an end, he shared on Lorraine today: ‘I said when I was announcing the tour, it’s the travelling I don’t want to do anymore, I don’t want to tour.
‘There may be an instance where, like when Kate Bush did at the Hammersmith Apollo, where you do a two week run.
‘I haven’t even thought about that yet.’
The Rocket Man continued: ‘All I want to do is stop. Take a deep breath.

‘I’m not going to plan anything.
‘I don’t want to be away from my family, I turn 76 next year and if I get 14 years I’ll be 90, so it’s like, just think about it from a humane point of view.
‘I want to be with my family.’
This comes after Sir Elton admitting he’s never ‘felt fitter or in better shape’ while embarking on his tour.

‘I honestly believe that they’re up there with the best shows I’ve ever done,’ Sir Elton reflected of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
‘Everyone has been cooped up and not seen any live music for quite some time, so I think people are ready for it.’
‘My fans have been so patient waiting for these shows to come around so I’m determined to deliver something truly special. For them to welcome me with such love and energy is wonderful,’ he added to the PA news agency.

‘Also, I’ve never felt fitter and in better shape. I’m playing for over 2.5 hours a night and have so much more in the tank.’
Sir Elton went on to say that the shows are ‘poignant’ as he’ll be visiting some of the places for the last time.

He kicked off his tour, which had to be delayed due to Covid-19, in June and it’s set to run until 2023.
In the midst of it, he played at London’s BST Hyde Park, proving he’s still the greatest showman.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
