Immortality has arrived on mobile devices thanks to Netflix, but the company hasn’t made much of an attempt to advertise it.

Although it launched for PC and Xbox Series X/S back in August, the lauded interactive movie game Immortality was also announced for mobile devices.

On launch day, developer Half Mermaid explained that the mobile version would take a little longer, but it was coming ‘very soon’ – suggesting probably some time this year.

With zero fanfare, however, Immortality has arrived on both the Apple store and Google Play store today… but only if you have a Netflix account.

In case you hadn’t heard, Netflix managed to snap up the publishing rights for the mobile version of Immortality.

So, if you want to experience the game on your iPhone or Android, you’ll need to be subscribed to Netflix to download and play it.

Strangely, neither Netflix nor Half Mermaid seem to have announced the mobile release. There’s been no press release, no new trailer, and not a mention on either of their Twitter accounts.

You would think Netflix would be pushing it hard considering Immortality has received three nominations at this year’s The Game Awards, pitting it against heavy hitters like God Of War Ragnarök and Elden Ring.

The game is up for Best Game Direction and Best Narrative, with Manon Gage, who plays the game’s main character Marissa Marcel, nominated for Best Performance.

From the same creator of Her Story and Telling Lies, Immortality uses full motion video to tell the story of an actress who went missing. You comb through her three movies that never saw release to uncover the mystery.

It’s not the only classic game Netflix has on its service, but has been strangely reluctant to promote, as the superb strategy game Into The Breach is also free to play for subscribers, as we discussed with the developer when it launched back in July.
