Call Of Duty: Warzone 2 is out now and it’s filled with new features and weapons but how do they all work?

Less than a month after Modern Warfare 2 kicked off, another new Call Of Duty game is already out. Warzone 2 has launched worldwide, kickstarting Season 1 and the grind through the battle pass.

Both games share several features between them – they’re part of the same franchise after all – but as a battle royale, Warzone 2 caters to a more aggressive and fast-paced playstyle.

Boasting a brand new interrogation system and revamped custom loadouts, Warzone 2 is trying to move the meta forward, but what exactly has changed?

How to interrogate enemies in Warzone 2

Securing a win in Warzone 2 largely depends on clearing enemy squads, but also on playing your cards smart and collecting intel to help you with your strategy.

The interrogation system is one of the two brand new features of Warzone 2 and it allows you to interrogate enemies when they’re in a vulnerable position.

Sometimes you need to be brutal (pic: Activision)

In practical terms, this means that you can approach any downed opponent and force them to reveal the location of the rest of their teammates.

The intel that you get from interrogations is quite useful, as your team will get notified of the enemy squad’s location on the mini-map and you’ll also be able to see their outline in real-time.

How to beat Warzone 2 Gulag and Jailer

The Gulag has been part of the game for some time now, though it’s seen so much change that it might as well be a brand-new addition to Warzone 2.

As usual, when you’re eliminated in the game, you’ll be given a second chance to respawn on the map by beating your opponent in the Gulag.

This mini-game has now evolved into a 2v2 mode, where you first spawn without a weapon, so you better brush up on your melee skills. You’ll be paired with a random player who you must co-operate with to take down two opponents.

The biggest change the Gulag features is the presence of a computer-controlled enemy in the prison called the Jailer, who you can fight to escape the prison- instead of focusing on the opposing duo straight away.

If you manage to beat the Jailer, all four of you will be parachuted right back into Al Mazrah.

Warzone 2 loadout drop changes

It was previously leaked that custom loadouts will be removed from Warzone 2, but that’s not the case.

Loadout drops might not be exactly as you remember them from Warzone 1, though, as you’ll see that you can no longer buy them from buy stations, using your funds.

Still, they will be in the game, as you have the option to get your hands on them by spotting random loadout drops or clearing out strongholds.

Be wary of enemy squads around you in either case, as the new loadout drops spawn system might encourage camping, despite being more rewarding.

What are Warzone 2 strongholds and black sites?

If you want to get your hands on some high-tier loot or custom loadouts, you’ll need to make your way to the strongholds spots scattered around Al Mazrah.

These AI-controlled buildings appear in set locations, so you better remember where you found them once you come across them.

All you need to do to get the high-tier loot and a full loadout is to clear the enemies and disarm bombs if you want a black site key to drop.

Black sites are a more dangerous form of strongholds, but they offer a permanent weapon blueprint reward and even more valuable in-game items if you manage to clear them out.

How Warzone’s new backpack system works in DMZ mode

Another change to the game’s looting system is the implementation of a fresh backpack system in Warzone 2, which is fully integrated for DMZ and streamlined for the battle royale modes.

When playing any battle royale mode, you’ll notice that, like in the previous Warzone, supply boxes will throw out items for you to pick up.

However, in Warzone 2, when you interact with any other loot container, such as a duffel bag or a medical case, you’ll get a loot menu pop-up.

This new backpack system will also contain all your looted items, except for your primary weapon, which will drop on the ground when you die.

Safe zone locations in Al Mazrah

Unlike other battle royale games, Warzone 2 has brought significant changes to its circle collapse system.

In the game’s battle royale modes, there can be up to three circles within the safe zone collapse, which will ultimately remerge for the final round.

This means you’ll need to start planning your endgame quickly, as you don’t want to end up in a crowded safe zone (unless you’re very good) or in a deserted one.

If you manage to guess correctly, as to when the final round will spawn, it’ll give your squad extra time to find the most strategic position in the area.

Warzone 2.0 new vehicles list

At any time you can go sightseeing around Al Mazrah, whether you want to explore the city or take a yacht out onto the ocean.

There’s also a new swimming mechanic, borrowed from Modern Warfare 2, which provides new ways of escaping fights or sneaking around enemy squads to catch them off-guard.

Aquatic combat is also a thing now, and you’ll even be able to fire certain weapons underwater.

Here are all the vehicles available in Warzone 2, including the brand-new GMC Hummer EV and the Heavy Chopper:

Armoured Patrol Boat: Reinforced aquatic vehicle with mounted .50 Cal machine guns. ATV: Nimble three-seater with little protection. Cargo Truck: Large industrial vehicle with a flatbed. GMC Hummer EV: All-electric super-truck engineered for off-road. Hatchback: Four-door civilian vehicle without any significant protection. Heavy Chopper: Heavily armoured search-and-rescue helicopter. Light Helo: Twin-engine light helicopter for rapid traversal and combat support. RHIB: Maneuverable tactical boat designed for Special Forces. SUV (Standard): All-terrain civilian 4×4 with a boxy frame. UTV: All-terrain lightweight four-seater.

To keep these vehicles moving, you’ll need to locate the ‘gas stations’ dotted around the map. All vehicles (including the EV) will use fuel over time and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

However, you can refuel either at the nearest gas station or through gas cans which are scattered around the map with the rest of the game’s loot.

You can also repair your vehicle’s tyres, though you should go for it only when you’re in a safe place, as it can leave you open to attack from enemy squads.

Where are the Warzone 2 third person playlists?

Another shared feature between Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, these playlists will let you jump in-game in third person, instead of the classic first person perspective.

During Season 1, the third person playlists will be introduced in one of the weekly rotations. This could happen before or after the Season 1 reloaded update for both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0 launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on Wednesday, November 16.
