A real treat for Sly fans (Picture: Brian Douglas/Paramount+)

Sylvester Stallone heads to midwest Oklahoma where his broad Brooklyn accent more than makes him stand out from the crowd. Or maybe the fact he’s a gangster with fingers in the Mafia pie has something to do with it. Sly fans will lap it up.

Yellowstone

Paramount+

Costner goes cowboy (Picture: Paramount+)

Kevin Costner looks born to wear a cowboy hat as this Western saga returns for a fifth series. But Kev’s character, John Dutton, has to smarten up his look a touch as he swaps the ranch for Montana’s corridors of power – he’s been elected governor. It could happen.

Episodes one and two available now.

Fifa Uncovered

Netflix

The controversial footballing organisation goes under the microscope (Picture: FIFA/Courtesy of Netflix)

For better or worse, Qatar 2022 is all but upon us, with the controversial World Cup starting on Sunday. But much of the pre-tournament kick-about has been about the issues raised by holding football’s biggest competition in a nation riven by human rights issues.

Fifa Uncovered (with Sepp Blatter) lifts the lid on the big-money machinations that brought football to a far-from-pretty pass, while The Men Who Sold The World Cup, on Discovery+, covers pretty much the same ground in more depth.

Both available now.

1899

Netflix

Spooks and seaborne psychology (Picture: Netflix)

You might feel all at sea with this spooky shipboard mystery. It’s a mix of period drama and psychological thriller as the fate of a liner that went missing en route to New York exerts a powerful pull on another ship that pitches up in its wake. Starring Aneurin Barnard, Emily Beecham and Andreas Pietschmann.

Available tomorrow.

Limitless With Chris Hemsworth

Disney+

Thor gets serious (Picture: National Geographic for Disney+/Craig Parry)

Thor himself tests six methods that claim to have a life-lengthening effect. The tests maybe physical in nature but it’s the power of the mind that does the heavy lifting.
