Besides the arrival of Season 1, Modern Warfare 2’s first major update has brought several bug fixes and changed some of its more unpopular features.

Season 1 has officially begun, starting on both Call Of Duty sequels, including the new Warzone 2, on November 16.

So far, a lot of new content has been added, ranging from new weapons and operators to a revamped battle pass system, which now works kind of like a map.

However, Modern Warfare 2 has also seen some quality-of-life changes, some of which should be warmly received by already complaining fans.

The first thing you’ll notice when opening Modern Warfare 2 is that the menu UI has now been changed, after receiving tons of hate on social media.

Although it hasn’t been completely overhauled, you’ll immediately notice it’s much smoother, quicker, and comes with improved readability. The camo screen has also been revamped to better showcase your unlocked camos.

If you want to keep track of your core multiplayer stats there’s no need to wait any longer, as the combat record has also arrived in Modern Warfare 2.

Moreover, the calling card menu has been redesigned and is now showing what challenges you need to complete to unlock each one.

There weren’t many equipment changes with this update, but the Drill Charge will now stick to riot shields and always kill enemies – even if they have chosen Bomb Squad as a perk.

On the other hand, there are plenty of weapon tweaks, along with a boost to general ADS (aim down sights) movement speed and strafe speed.

In terms of nerfs, the Kastov-74u assault rifle was in the spotlight, receiving an increase to its hip fire spread and an ADS speed decrease, to stop it from becoming too powerful.

Other assault rifles, such as the M16, have got quite a few buffs, as it now boasts a higher rate of fire, a tighter hip fire spread, and a smoother recoil pattern. The M16 should also now be more accurate, thanks to a reduction to its semi-auto firing and a tweak to its shot grouping.

Battle rifle FTac Recon also got several boosts, making its ADS speed faster for players to better utilise its small, five-round magazine. The FTac Recon has always been a powerful option for more experienced players, but now enemies will flinch even more when you shoot them.

The SP-R 208 marksman rifle is, surprisingly, left out of any major boosts, but it has been hit with a notable increase to its flinch output.
