Placebo has asked concertgoers not to use phones at their gig as they plead for people to live in the moment.
The rock legends have been a staple on the scene for decades, with three UK top 10s including the iconic Pure Morning.
Having spent the summer opening for fellow rock gods My Chemical Romance during their UK tour, the band are no strangers to filling venues with fans eager to hear their massive back catalogue of hits.
However their gigs could look slightly different going forward, as the dup have issued a plea to fans not to take photos or videos during their set.
Ahead of their UK and Ireland headline tour kicking off this week, members Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal took to social media where they made the request.
They wrote: ‘Dear Placebo fans, we would like to kindly ask you NOT to spend the concert filming or taking photos with your mobile phones.

‘It makes Placebo’s performance so much more difficult. More difficult to connect with you and to communicate effectively the emotions of the songs.
‘It is also disrespectful to your fellow concert-goers who want to watch the show, not the back of your phone.’
They added: ‘Please be here and now in the present and enjoy the moment. Because this exact moment will never ever happen again.

‘Our purpose is to create communion & transcendence. Please help us on our mission. With respect and love.’
The request has proved somewhat divisive among fans, with some agreeing concerts would be better if everyone lived in the moment, but others arguing they like to look back on their snaps and relive the experience.
It comes as the band prepare to take on a massive UK and Ireland tour, starting on Friday with a sold out show in Portsmouth.

The tour will take the duo across Britain, with dates in England, Scotland and Wales, as well as an Irish arena show in Dublin’s 3Arena.
While most of the gigs are fully sold out, some tickets remain for Cardiff on November 24 and Dublin on December 5.
