Westlife star Nicky Byrne has updated his fans after falling off stage – earning some pretty nasty bruises in the process.

The singer is currently on tour with his bandmates, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, and Kian Egan, and performed in Glasgow on Saturday night.

It was all going seamlessly until the Irish star took a tumble, but Nicky, 44, has assured everyone he’s ‘completely fine’.

Thanking his concerned followers for their messages, he issued a statement, writing: ‘So last night I did have a little accident on stage in Glasgow, where I didn’t realise the mechanical stairs had opened behind me.

‘A crazy moment which could’ve been a lot worse but I’m completely fine, a little bit battered and bruised but ok!’

The Uptown Girl hitmaker added that ‘the show must go on’ and he’ll be back on stage tonight, signing off with a fitting hashtag, ‘#ReallyFlyingWithoutWings’.

Nicky later shared some snaps of his bruising and a video of his fall, which resulted in him being checked over by medics.

The musician has a pretty ugly purple bruise on the side of his body – and it ain’t a small one.

A patch of his skin has also been scraped off from the accident.

Fans flocked to wish him a speedy recovery, encouraging him to ‘be careful’ as the tour continues.

‘My friend and I saw this live in Glasgow and we were very worried. True trooper who came back on for encore. Hope your okay, take care of yourself tonight x’, one fan commented.

‘Jeez Nicky, you don’t believe in doing anything by halves, do you?! That looks so painful. Be careful of yourself, please ❤️’, penned another.

A third wrote: ‘Hell of a bruise! Flying Without Wings 😂 hope it’s not too painful.’

Hopefully Nicky can refrain from getting into any more scrapes as the Wildest Dreams Tour continues, with the band set to take to London’s O2 Arena stage in December.

Earlier this year, 24 years into their career, the band also played Wembley stadium for the first time.

They thrilled fans at the sold-out venue with all their hits after Westlife rose to fame when they were formed in 1998.
