Rapper Takeoff was honoured at the American Music Awards on Sunday, weeks after his shocking death at the age of 28.
The Migos member, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas earlier this month.
A police investigation is currently underway to determine how the music star was killed after apparently being struck by a stray bullet.
Takeoff’s bandmate Offset, 30, who is also his cousin, delayed the release of his upcoming album out of his respect following the incident.
And those tributes continued last night during the annual AMAs in Los Angeles, with many big stars leading the honours for young rapper.
TV personality Wayne Brady, who hosted the event, said: ‘We recently lost Kirsnick Khari Ball, better known as Takeoff, of the groundbreaking hip-hop group Migos.’

He continued: ‘On behalf of all of us that love hip-hop all around the world, we thank you, Takeoff, for your artistry.’
The host concluded his tribute with a message to all those watching: ‘Tonight, we honour your memory. We have to stop this senseless and terrible gun violence.’
Taylor Swift was the big winner at the awards ceremony, taking home six trophies – among them were the awards for best artist and best music video.
Cardi B, wife to Offset, made her first TV appearance since Takeoff’s death, performing the song Tomorrow alongside rapper GloRilla.
Last week, the WAP hitmaker paid a moving tribute to her husband’s cousin, saying that she would always remember his ‘remarkable talent’.

‘I will remember your remarkable talent and your dope ass personality. I pray that you are at peace and in paradise because you deserve every bit of it.’
She concluded: ‘God opened the heavenly gates for you with a warm embrace.’
R&B singer Tinashe also made sure to mention Takeoff while she walked the red carpet, saying that the rapper was a ‘generational figure’.
