Strictly Come Dancing is plenty of fun… but sadly, someone has to go home each week.
Yep, 2022’s live shows are well underway, and as a result we’ve already waved goodbye to a few celebrity contestants, as the show hurtles towards its end-of-year finale.
On Saturday night, singer Fleur East scored the first perfect 40 of the series with a tribute to Destiny’s child.
But who hasn’t been scoring top, and ultimately found themselves going home due to the public vote?
Here’s who’s been eliminated so far.
The full list of Strictly 2022’s eliminated contestants
Kaye Adams
All of the celebrities were given week one to perform, without the threat of elimination looming.
Alas, on week two, Kaye Adams of Loose Women fame became the first star to depart the dancefloor, following a performance of the Charleston with pro partner Kai Widdrington.
The dance scored only 22 points out of 40, and Kaye lost out in the dance-off to Matt Goss.
Of her exit, Kaye said the journey was shorted than she’d hoped for – but a still a journey nonetheless.
She added: ‘While right now I’m kicking myself for not having performed as well as I could have, at the same time I do feel proud for having jumped in with two left feet into something a couple of years ago I would have run the other mile from.’
Richie Anderson
The second star to depart Strictly 2022 was radio personality Richie Anderson.
His week three performance saw him and pro partner Giovanni Pernice add a touch of fun to their Movie Week Samba to The Lion King track Hakuna Matata – by dressing up as Timon and Pumbaa.
The pair scored 27 points for their efforts, placing them in the middle of the leaderboard – but unluckily ended up in a dance-off with Sax hitmaker Fleur East.

In the end, only Shirley Ballas opted to save Richie – though gutted fellow judge Motsi Mabuse admitted she thought neither celebrity deserved to be in the bottom two.
As he was voted off, Richie told host Tess Daly: ‘Do you know what as a Strictly fan I always thought it was a magical thing to be a part of, and being here it really is and it’s not just the people that you see on camera, the judges, and you and Claud and the amazing people that I’ve got to meet on this show…
‘I also want to thank this guy [Giovanni] as well, he’s been so amazing, and I feel so lucky that I’ve got to dance with you every day.’
Matt Goss
Bros star Matt Goss became the third celebrity to leave Strictly 2022.
During week four, the 80s pop icon found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 20 – for his Jive to All Shook Up with dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova.
As a result, Matt found himself in the bottom two with Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Parma – with the judges all choosing to save Kym based on her final dance-off performance.
An emotional Matt paid tribute to the show as he exited, saying: ‘It’s an extraordinary experience, I have been in America for 25 years. Thank you judges for your candour, you’ve helped me in many ways, my posture – Anton, I am more aware of it.
‘This lovely lady [Nadiya] beside me, a world champion with all the patience. I am very honoured to have danced with you, and everyone who is still in, I love you guys, go smash it guys.’
Jayde Adams
Comedian Jayde Adams became the fourth celebrity to leave the competition, after performing a Charleston to The Ballad of Barry and Freda (Let’s Do It) in a tribute to fellow comic Victoria Wood.
After finding herself in the bottom two of the competition, Jayde faced CBBC’s Molly Rainford in the dance off, who the judges chose to save.
After finding out she was leaving the competition, Jayde said: ‘This has been the best thing I have ever done in my life and I will carry it to my grave… it has been an absolute pleasure.
Addressing her dance partner, Karen Hauer, she added: ‘You are fantastic.
‘It has been such an honour.’
Karen, thanking Jayde, said: ‘You are so special, so powerful, so emotional and I’ve loved every second.’
James Bye
Eastenders star James Bye became the sixth celebrity to leave the competition, after performing a Charleston to Bumblebee in Halloween week.
James ended up in the bottom two with Fleur East after scoring 27 points from the judges and was sent packing following the dance off.
After finding out he was leaving the competition, James said: ‘I’ve said this from the very beginning, all I can do is go out there and do my very best. I am dancing against Fleur East, I went and did my best but she is phenomenal.
‘I’ve had the best time on this show and I have a friend for life [in Amy], all I can do is thank the family, and I have a new family now. It’s a competition but you don’t feel like that backstage, you honestly feel like everyone has each other’s backs and everyone is just willing everyone to do their best.’
Ellie Simmonds
Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds left the competition in week seven, after ending up in the bottom two with Molly Rainford.
After taking part in the dreaded dance off, all four judges chose to save Molly, meaning that Ellie had to head home.
When asked by Tess about her time on the show, Ellie said: ‘I’ve literally had the time of my life. It’s been the most incredible experience – life changing really. I want to thank Nikita ever so much.
‘We’ve had the most amazing days. We’ve had not just dancing days – but days we’ve just spoken for hours. And the confidence you’ve given me – I seem confident but you know what I’m like, I worry about everything so so much and we’ve literally represented everything.
‘We went out there any danced our life out every single night and I loved it so much.’
Tony Adams
In week eight, former Arsenal player Tony Adams, ended up in the bottom two with Tyler West, after performing a jive with partner Katya.
However, after sustaining an injury during Saturday night’s show, Tony made the decision to withdraw from the competition, meaning that Tyler and his dance partner Dianne were sent straight through to Blackpool Week.
Ahead of the dance-off, Tess told the audience: ‘Due to an injury sustained on Saturday night, Tony is unable to take part in the dance off and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
‘This means there will be no dance off tonight and Tyler and Dianne are through to Blackpool.’
Discussing his time on the show, the former footballer said: ‘I cried for the first month. I came in here with one message, if you’ve got an issue with mental health then please don’t suffer in silence and reach out for help.
‘Little did I know that I was going to learn a lot about myself in the process. I thought this ‘journey’ rubbish was nonsense, but my god, the rollercoaster of emotion.’
Tyler West
Radio DJ Tyler West became the eighth contestant to leave the competition after performing a salsa in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Tyler ended up in the bottom two with Molly Rainford and following the dance off, three of the judges voted to keep Molly in the competition, with only Anton voting to save Tyler.
After finding out he would be leaving the competition, Tyler said: ‘When you watch the show at home, you wonder what it must be like to dance on it, it’s everything and more, it’s changed my life.
‘This girl here, has changed my life for sure. To think I was some shy kid who never used to talk to anyone, to dancing in front of millions, I can’t put it into words. It’s my mum’s favourite show, I bought her to Blackpool, my nan bless her was always watching over me on this journey.’
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One.
