A Place In The Sun star Jasmine Harman has shared she’s keeping support of her co-star and friend Jonnie Irwin private, but has been ‘thinking of him all the time.’
Jonnie, 49, recently explained that he’d been given ‘months to live’ after being diagnosed with terminal cancer and said he knew his sons would grow up without their dad, after his cancer spread to his brain.
He’s since been showered in support from fans and co-stars, recently saying the kind messages have been ‘overwhelming’.
Jasmine, who started working on A Place In The Sun with Jonnie in 2004, has shared a message thanking fans for their support.
She wrote: ‘Just wanted to say a very sincere and heartfelt thank you to all those who have posted messages of support to me and even those who have come up to me in person to wish Jonnie well.
‘It’s amazing to know how loved he is and how many people have been touched by his story.

‘I want to say that I prefer to support Jonnie privately as a friend, so you won’t see lots of posts about him here as I feel that it is up to him to decide what and how much he posts about his life.
‘I am thinking of him all the time, and I’m so proud to call him a friend. If you want to follow him, head to @jonnieirwintv Love you mate.’
She had earlier said: ‘Sending lots of love and support to my great friend and original partner in crime @jonnieirwintv.

‘I know it has taken bravery to share your story. As ever a true inspiration & always positive and up for a laugh no matter what the circumstances. love to you and your beautiful family.’
Jasmine’s post comes after I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Scarlette Douglas revealed how ‘devastated’ she was to hear the news, having not known the extent of her colleague’s illness until she left the jungle.
‘I had heard but I didn’t realise it was terminal which makes it sound imminent,’ she said after her exit.

She added to The Sun: ‘I knew that he wasn’t well, but I didn’t know this. I’ve come out and been told there was something in the papers that he is not well. I didn’t know the true extent of it.
‘So of course I’m going to drop him a message now because that’s devastating because I know he’s got three young kids and he’s got a beautiful wife and he’s an amazing person.’
Jonnie first got a warning sign that something wasn’t quite right in August 2020, when he was in Italy, filming for A Place in the Sun.

His vision became blurred while driving, and he had tests as soon as he arrived home.
‘Within a week of flying back from filming, I was being given six months to live,’ he said. ‘I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much. That was devastating. All I could do was apologise to her. I felt so responsible.’
Jonnie is married to Jessica Holmes, 40, and they share three sons – Rex, three, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
