Daniel Craig has singled out Thanksgiving as his favourite holiday, but says stuffing is an ‘abomination’.

While the former James Bond actor followed in his wife Rachel Weisz’s footsteps and became an American citizen back in 2019, he hasn’t quite come around to some of the dishes on offer during the festivities.

Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Daniel was asked about whether he celebrated Thanksgiving, and the conversation quickly spiralled into chaos.

‘I do understand Thanksgiving, it’s about giving thanks as far as I understand. I knew there would be tough questions,’ he quipped.

He added: ‘We do celebrate it and have for a long time and I think it is my favourite holiday’.

But while he’s all about giving thanks, the actor is critical of the iconic food that comes along with the celebrations.

‘I’m not so good with the fixing and things,’ Craig said after being asked how he felt about the food.

‘Cranberry sauce I can do…but stuffing, I think it’s an abomination.’

Stephen wasn’t going to let the comments slide and quickly retorted that he didn’t think English food was much better.

‘I will not take culinary critique from a country that has kidney pie,’ he declared.

But as Daniel said, he didn’t quite understand the idea of ‘stuffing [bread] up the a** of a turkey.’

‘I think you can have it alone, but you don’t need to put it anywhere near a bird.’

‘I just don’t think you need it, it’s too complicated.’

But ahead of Thanksgiving this week, Daniel surely has a lot to be grateful for, including the rave reviews that have already started trickling through for his latest movie.

Glass Onion: a Knives Out Mystery, the sequel to the 2019 hit flick, is out on Wednesday and sees him reprise the role of Detective Benoit Blanc.

It’s already been called ‘the year’s most ingeniously entertaining movie’.

While Daniel and Rachel are rarely seen out at events together, she attended the premiere of the film as it closed this year’s BFI London Film Festival in October.

The pair were pictured sitting next to each other on a sofa with James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.

While they knew each other for nearly two decades, in 2011 they were married after just six months of dating.

They share a four year-old daughter, however they’ve never publicly released her name.
