Well, howl about that… Joss Stone panicked she wouldn’t be able to hack motherhood after being haunted by terrifying visions of slavering wolves.

In an exclusive interview with Guilty Pleasures, the singer shared that her imagination ran wild following the birth of her daughter Violet last year.

‘I was elated, super-happy. So happy I was annoying, which is a common thread for me,’ said Joss, who now also has a month-old baby boy, Shackleton, with her partner Cody.

‘But every now and then I had intrusive thoughts of something happening to my little girl, like wolves running through the front door and eating her.

‘I thought, “I can’t live like this, this is horrible”. I said to my mum, “I keep having these horrific thoughts”. And she goes, “It will go away. It’s just a mad time – you’ve got the hormones and you’re in love, and concerned”. Apparently, it happens to a lot of women.’

The Masked Singer winner feared it may have been a case of post-partum depression, which some of her friends have suffered.

‘I think I overdid it, so my brain was like, “Well you haven’t got it for the most part, so I’m going to give you a weird horror movie in your head”.’

Fortunately, the fears passed, and now 35-year-old Joss has got it all snowing on with the release of her first festive album, Merry Christmas, Love, out now.

And is she aiming for this year’s Christmas No.1? ‘Wouldn’t that be nice? If I had one Christmas wish…’
