Who has been killed in The White Lotus season 2? All the wild theories after episode 4-Ruth Lawes-Entertainment – Metro

It’s past the halfway point in The White Lotus season 2, but are we any closer to finding out who has been killed in the HBO drama?

Much like the inaugural season, the first episode of the thriller set in Sicily opened with ‘dead bodies’ being found in the sea, much to the horror of holidaymaker Daphne (Meghann Fahy) and the resort’s manager, Valentina (Sabrina Impacciatore).

But we’re now past the halfway point and there’s still been no mention of a fatal accident or murder, although there has certainly been lots of illusions to death and destruction.

So far, tensions have boiled between the incompatible couples Daphne and her finance bro hubby Cameron (Theo James), and their vaycay companions Harper (Aubrey Plaza) and Ethan (Will Sharpe), while the three generations of the Di Grasso family have become embroiled with women linked to the luxury hotel.

Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), meanwhile, is failing to have a happy break with her husband Greg (Jon Gries), who is seen telling a mystery person on the phone he loves them before jacking in the vacation for ‘work’ back in the States.

Could that mean she might be out for revenge?

According to Reddit, sex worker Lucia (Simona Tabasco) and her pal Mia (Beatrice Grannò), who have become entangled with several men staying in the hotel, are the most likely to end up dead.

One account explained: ‘I am assuming Mia and Lucia are one, if not both dead. The manager made mention of those dead being guests and they had the scene in episode two about them being added onto the room to become guests.’

Another viewer added: ‘I think both Mia and Lucia die. The first scene of the show is Daphne telling two women “You’re gonna die. They’re gonna have to drag you out of here.” One of the women she’s speaking to is wearing similar colors to Lucia’s in her first scene. The other woman is wearing a blue top and white pants, and Mia is wearing a blue top and white pants in her first scene.’

A The White Lotus fan commented that it was most likely Lucia and Mia die because they are ‘doomed’ as being the only non-rich characters in a satire that is all about the destruction of wealth and privilege.

They added: ‘They’re the only characters with “good” motives, they’re just trying to improve their life/ class circumstances. I feel like one of the themes is that rich people don’t face the consequences of their actions and the poor/ people who work for them are the ones who suffer.’

Many fans believe Lucia will be one of the dead bodies (Picture: HBO)

Adding further clout to the prediction Lucia and Mia will be the bodies is the scene where they got added to Dominic Di Grasso’s (Michael Imperioli) room.

While the sequence is unremarkable on the surface level, we know the dead bodies are guests – so it could be argued why else include this seemingly irrelevant scene if it’s not going to have later consequences?

Another emerging theory is that Tanya’s assistant Portia (Haley Lu Richardson), who is looking for an ‘adventure’ and summer fling in Taormina, is killed.

A Reddit account wrote: ‘Portia being killed could also work narratively, because she keeps talking about how she really wants to “live life” and have an adventure, and it could fit into the trope of the (unintentional) one last hurrah. She got to live a bit, and it ended up costing her. Her death would also follow the trend of the “workers” being the ones to die while the wealthy have no consequences.’

Meanwhile, fans have spoken about the ‘possibility’ of Tanya killing Greg after learning about his presumed secret lover, or herself ending up dead.

In a notable scene in episode 3, Tanya is visited by a tarot card reader who warns in Italian that ‘Craziness will drive you to suicide’ – but could that be a red herring?

A watcher said: ‘I think there’s also the possibility of Tanya killing Greg, perhaps accidentally, due to her suspicions of him cheating. Would also work with the Moorish man story, and with the lower-class characters getting the short end of the stick. (Although Greg is independently wealthy, he spoke this episode about his reliance on her money, and the prenup they signed.)’
