Cain Velasquez will wrestle at Lucha Libre show while on $1,000,000 bail for attempted murder charge-Alistair McGeorge-Entertainment – Metro

A judge has ruled Cain Velasquez can perform at a pro wrestling event next month despite being under house arrest.
The former UFC heavyweight champion is on $1 million bail on charges including attempted murder, and Judge Arthur Bocanegra has decided to waive his house confinement restriction to allow him to wrestle at the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event.
After hearing from Velasquez’s defence attorney Ed Sousa and district attorney representative Leigh Frazier earlier this week, the Santa Clara County judge ruled he can take part in the event in Tempe, Arizona without GPS monitoring.
The 40-year-old athlete will leave his home on December 1, perform at the Mullet Arena on December 3, and then return on December 4.
With his monitoring device being removed for the trip, Judge Bocanegra has ordered him to hire a police officer with his own money to accompany him, as reported by ESPN.
The UFC star is facing seven charges including attempted murder and 10 gun-related charges after allegedly chasing and shooting at Harry Goularte, who is accused of sexually assaulting his then four-year-old son.

Although Goularte – who is also out on bail – wasn’t hit by his shots, his stepfather Paul Bender was, although he was not seriously injured in the incident.
Bender helps Goularte’s mother Patricia run a daycare centre where Goularte allegedly abused the MMA fighter’s son, and the three of them were all in the car when Velasquez pursued them in his own vehicle.
Velasquez retired from UFC in 2019 and moved into a career in pro wrestling, starting with matches for Lucha Libre AAA, having grown up a fan of the style.
He then signed a huge deal with WWE and even fought Brock Lesnar in Saudi Arabia in November 2019, before being released by the company as part of Covid-19 pandemic cost cutting measures in April 2020.
He later returned to AAA in Mexico late last year.
