Helena Christensen has remembered her late former boyfriend Michael Hutchence on the anniversary of his death, just days after his sister accused her of failing to tell his family about a head injury.
The supermodel dated the INXS rocker for five years in the early 1990s but split before his death on November 22, 1997.
Hutchence died after taking his own life in a Sydney, Australia hotel room at the age of 37.
Ahead of the anniversary, Hutchence’s sister Tina said she was ‘angry’ that Helena had reportedly not told them that he suffered brain damage.
The musician was injured after being assaulted by a taxi driver during a road rage incident Copenhagen, Denmark in 1995. A filmmaker unearthed Hutchence’s full autopsy report in 2019 that revealed the extent of internal injuries.
Helena, 53, is yet to address the criticism from Tina, but she did acknowledge the anniversary of her ex-boyfriend’s death in an Instagram post, sharing photos from a topless photo shoot they did during their relationship.

Alongside the black and white photos, Helena wrote: ‘Hey Michael, was just on the phone with some friends of yours who all love you very much. We shared some beautiful memories and of course we laughed a lot cause being around you was so fun and joyous.
‘You made everyone feel alive and loved, there was always such a magical light around you ~ a light that will never go out 💫 Thank you @fabrizioferriofficial for sharing these contactsheets with me.’
Helena received support in the comments from the likes of Julianne Moore and Jamie Oliver who left red heart emoji, while presenter Cat Deeley wrote: ‘Love this.’
Last weekend, Tina addressed Hutchence’s brain damage and admitted that she wishes she learned of her brother’s health issues sooner.
‘I know Michael was so happy with Helena and there was a time when I could not imagine them not being together,’ Tina told The Sun On Sunday.

‘But I did feel angry when I first found out about the assault, as I felt it was her duty to say something to his family.
‘There were all these awful stories about Michael after he died, so for Helena not to tell us about the head injury was wrong. She was very close to our parents and could have easily reached out.’
Helena discussed Hutchence’s brain damage in Richard Lowenstein’s documentary Mystify, and described how she and the late rocker were riding home on bikes when they stopped in a narrow road to get pizza.
‘This insane taxi driver yelled at Michael to move. He got out of his car and punched him,’ she said in the film.
‘Michael fell backwards and hit his head on the curb. He was unconscious and there was blood coming out of his mouth and ear. I thought he was dead.
‘We got to the hospital and he woke up and was aggressive. They were trying to make him stay but he was physically pushing them away.’
Following her split from Hutchence, Helena went on to date The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus and welcomed their son in 1999. Their relationship ended in 2003 and she later dated Interpol singer Paul Banks for seven years.
