‘People pleaser’ Matt Hancock has promised his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! camp mates drinks in the house of Commons when they leave the jungle.

Hancock is currently suspended from the Conservative Party with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak admitting he is disappointed’ the former health minister abandoned his constituents to secure a £400,000 deal with ITV to eat a cow’s vagina.

He’s also breached the government’s rules on post-ministerial jobs by not consulting parliament’s anti-corruption watchdog before jetting off Down Under.

However, according to Scarlette Douglas, who became the second star evicted from the show this series on Sunday night, Hancock is still confident he will be able to bring the 12 celebrities into the House of Commons for a boozy night out.

Scarlette confidently called Hancock the ‘least genuine’ campmate while speaking on Capital Xtra on Thursday.

She told hosts Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie: ‘He came in saying that he wanted forgiveness from everybody and then we found out that he has so many things happening when he gets out of the jungle and it’s like, is this just a PR stunt for you?

‘So. Sorry Matt!’

When pushed if any of the line-up will be pals with the MP when they get out, Scarlette chuckled: ‘No!

‘No wait that’s a lie, he promised us that we could all go for drinks at the House of Commons so I think we’ll be friends with him until that and then not sure after that.’

The A Place in The Sun presenter added that she’s not sure anyone really got to see the true Hancock.

‘In the jungle to start off with he was trying to be a people pleaser and doing everything and helping everyone so I still don’t think I got to know the Matt Hancock,’ she said.

‘So again, will I be friends with him outside…meh. Inside we had to get on.’

Hancock is currently looking as through he might well end up in the I’m A Celebrity final this weekend, with Lioness Jill Scott firm favourite to win.

Despite huge backlash surrounding his arrival into camp, he pleaded for ‘forgiveness’ and without really apologising for his handling of the pandemic or for snogging his political aide during lockdown – subsequently breaking the very guidance he laid out – with many viewers he seems to have got just that.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
