Adele urged fans to keep drinking while she cracked jokes on stage during her Las Vegas residency performance, according to reports.

The 34-year-old singer is five days into her string of shows across the pond and has been delighting fans with one long-awaited concert after another.

Known for staying off the booze while singing her much-loved hits to thousands of people, she reportedly encouraged fans to do the opposite as they watched on in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace hotel.

Taking to the stage in a floor-length elegant black gown, she began her highly-anticipated Weekends with Adele last Friday at the iconic American venue.

The I Drink Wine hitmaker wanted audience members to do just that throughout last night’s show in an attempt to fuel glowing performance reviews, according to the Mirror

‘Go and order some drinks… the drunker you are, the better I am,’ she apparently said on stage.

The chance to see the megastar belt out some of her fan favourites was cut short for Adele supporters in January as the songstress cancelled a proposed schedule due to her not being ready.

Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, the award-winning vocalist described her move as ‘the worst feeling I’ve ever had but the best decision I’ve ever made.’

‘I do stand by it,’ she added.

The Chasing Pavements star apparently felt the old set-up lacked a sense of intimacy she wanted her fans to feel when they paid to come and see her perform live.

Despite worries, on Friday the run opened to a chorus of applause as the Grammy winner poured her heart out through tracks Hello and Easy On Me, proving it was well worth the wait.

Audiences greeted the opening two numbers with a standing ovation and filled the auditorium with a resounding nod of approval for the British artist.

Adele showed her appreciation for the crowd when she said: ‘I should be giving you a standing ovation,’ with tears falling down her cheeks

The Mirror claims she told ticket holders: ‘I worked my absolute a**e off for this.

‘I couldn’t have done that other show and you wouldn’t have liked it either, I’m telling you that.’

The show was as visually appealing as it was sweet on the ear as the singer treated crowds to some mind-blowing effects during the performance.

Saving the best till last, she closed the show by vanishing under a storm of glittering pink confetti that dropped from the ceiling.
