Coleen Nolan spoke emotionally and vulnerably on Monday’s edition of Loose Women about her past relationships and how it had taken her a ‘really long time’ to accept that she was worthy of her boyfriend’s love.
The presenter did not clarify whether or not she was referencing a past or current relationship but spoke in glowing terms both of the partner and their experience together.
As the panel, which also included Janet Street Porter, Brenda Edwards and Dame Kelly Holmes, discussed if there was such a thing as being too in love, Coleen opened up on her personal journey.
‘I wear my heart on my sleeve, I love love, love being in love, I fell in love really quickly and then later on in life, the last three of four years, I’ve been single,’ she began.
‘I’ve always loved them more than they loved me, always in my relationships. I’ve always given too much, I’ve always excused their behaviour or their faults or their ick – I go: “Oh, it’s just him, it’ll be fine tomorrow.”’
She then spoke about the boyfriend who had changed her perspective on love.

‘This time round, I met somebody who loves me probably more than I’ve ever been loved and I pushed him away a lot because I kept thinking, “Why are you doing that? That’s giving me the ick.”’
Coleen, 57, added: ‘It took me such a long time to learn, because I kept going back to type of guys who didn’t love me as much as I loved them – this guy did – [and] it took me a really time to accept that I was worth being loved like that.’
Gushing over the revelation, the singer’s voice wobbled with emotion – which caused her to laugh – as she said: ‘I opened myself up to it and said he loves me because he thinks I’m worth it – and it’s been a marvellous experience!’
Coleen was reported to have split with her last known boyfriend, supermarket worker Michael Jones, 58, over a year together in July.

In January, she introduced him to viewers of the ITV talk show, saying marriage was ‘inevitable’.
The pair met on Tinder, with Coleen admitting that finding love with a new partner was ‘something that I genuinely thought would never happen again’, after divorcing second husband Ray Fensome in 2018.
According to The Sun, Coleen and Michael decided ‘amicably’ to go their separate ways after growing apart.
A spokesperson for Coleen also reportedly confirmed the split to the publication, saying that, while they are no longer together, they ‘remain great friends and are on good terms.’

The insider added that while they were ‘happy at first, the spark fizzled out in the end.’
Coleen is mum to Shane Jr, 33, and Jake, 30, with first husband Shane Richie, and Ciara, 21, with second husband Ray.
