The beloved TLC program follows siblings Amy and Tammy Slaton on their journey to improve their health and slim down, while also maintaining their relationships and home lives.

Viewers have been crying out for an update on how the Slaton sisters are getting along after the tense season three finale showed Tammy battling to save her life in hospital.

The pair have confirmed that more episodes will be on our screens shortly, focusing on Tammy’s surprise wedding to Caleb Willingham, as well as Amy expanding her family with a second child.

Thankfully, we don’t have long to wait for a new batch of instalments, after it was revealed that the program will be returning to the small screen in the new year.

According to reports, the siblings will be making their eagerly-awaited comeback on January 17, 2023.

Teasing what we have in store, a synopsis reads: ‘Tammy makes “a life-altering decision” after surviving a near-death experience.

‘Amy, expecting her second baby, isn’t sure how being an overweight mother will work, while Chris is desperate to qualify for skin removal surgery.’

New episodes of 1000Lb Sisters will air at 9pm on Tuesdays on TLC in the US, and will be available to stream online following this.

A UK air date for the season has not yet been confirmed.

Series three ended in dramatic fashion when Tammy was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, after she stopped breathing while at a weight loss facility.

Cameras were on hand to capture the heartbreaking moment doctors informed her loved ones that her body was ‘shutting down’.

Thankfully she woke up and underwent a tracheotomy, and was able to recuperate before continuing with her transformation.

Tamm’s recovery will be a huge part of the upcoming episodes, as well as her whirlwind romance with Caleb – who she married at the rehab center earlier this month.

‘You all knew me as Tammy Slaton, but now you’ll all know me as Mrs Tammy Willingham,’ she revealed in a brief video from their nuptials

‘I’m married now!
