All Elite Wrestling star Andrade El Idolo is recovering after surgery to repair a torn pectoral.
The former WWE superstar, who left the company in March 2021 before joining Tony Khan’s rival promotion AEW three months later, was pulled from an independent wrestling show earlier this month due to injury and now he’s given fans an update.
Sharing pictures of himself in the ring, in his hospital bed and the injury itself, he tweeted: ‘My first surgery I can’t believe it happened.
‘A few months ago, I tore my pectoral. Thanks god! I could and wanted to finish my match. I kept working because I love the business but we know that many people do not value your effort, these days off I took the opportunity to go to Dr. (sic)’
Andrade has finally undergone surgery some time after suffering the painful injury, and the procedure comes after he missed an event in Cudahy, California on November 20.
In a video shared on the RGR Lucha Libre Facebook page days before the show, Andrade was seen in a hospital bed as he insisted he would have loved to have joined the fans at the venue.

‘Greetings to all my friends in Los Angeles! I would have loved to meet you all this Sunday, but I had an issue to attend. I will be giving more details about it at a later date,’ he said.
‘If it had been up to me, I would have loved to be there with you all. I hope to see you all again in Los Angeles and I apologise.’
Meanwhile, there is plenty of speculation about his wife Charlotte Flair and when she’ll be back in WWE, having not been seen on screen since she took time off for their wedding in May.
Last month, Andrade addressed his relationship with Ric Flair’s daughter while speaking to Mas Lucha, and reflected on whether or not WWE boss Triple H has attempted to bring him back.
He said: ‘He [Triple H] gave me an opportunity and helped me a lot in NXT and I spoke to him when I requested my release. We are on good terms and he always mentioned that I can keep in contact with him.
‘I cannot say that I have contacted him recently, but it is difficult due to legalities. And if he wanted to speak to me, my wife works there, so he can always reach out to me from there too.
‘It is difficult at the same time because Ashley [Charlotte] has time off due to personal reasons and she will specify them in future interviews.
‘It was very heavy because she worked on Thursdays to work on Weekends while I travelled on Tuesdays and returned on Thursdays as soon as she was scheduled to leave. Right now we are good because I get to see her more, I hope she comes back soon.’
