Twitch streamer LuluLuvely claims that EA never compensated or gave proper credit for the Apex Legends cosmetics she and other creators designed.
Apex Legends often features special events that give you the chance to unlock limited edition skins for your characters and weapons, as well as various other cosmetics.
For its third anniversary back in February 2022, the game launched yet another one of these special events, prompting players to compete in a variety of challenges to win high tier items.
However, during a recent stream, LuluLuvely revealed that she and plenty of other creators helped design some cosmetics, with many Apex players never realising this collaboration actually happened.
In the same video, she also claims that they never got compensated for their efforts. What’s more, their names got removed from the weapon skins in-game, even though they actively took part in the design process.
‘EA told us for months that they’re going to be creator skins,’ LuluLuvely said.
‘Then, the day before they released them, EA was like ‘Your name is actually not going to be attached to the skin at all, nor will you get any money from the skin or recognition,’ she added.
The weapon skin that LuluLuvely is referring to is Aftershock Wave for the R-301 assault rifle in Apex Legends, which she helped design with artist lilakeyLK.
After learning of the news that she won’t get any recognition from the collaboration, LuluLuvely said she approached EA to resolve the matter.
However, the company responded by mentioning her and other streamers in the anniversary event’s blog post.
Specifically, the blog post mentions that the rewards tracker for the event featured ‘12 community-created cosmetics’ without indicating which creator designed each item – though it does mention everyone by name at the end.

iiTzTimmy, who is another popular Apex streamer, also took part in the collaboration, although he’s not commented on LuluLuvely’s claims so far.
EA hasn’t issued a public statement either, although we have contacted them and will update this article if they respond.
For now, it seems like the streamer has decided to take a step away from Apex – even though she’s been streaming the game for years – and focus on Overwatch 2 and Warzone 2.
LuluLuvely also decided not to renew her contract with American esports organisation NRG, thus taking a new and more independent direction with her content.
