Melaine Brown, 47, has praised the new Queen Consort Camilla, 75, for standing up against domestic abuse following a reception at the palace.
The wife of King Charles III, 74, held an event at the iconic location to raise awareness and combat growing numbers of violence against women and girls.
Former Spice Girl Mel commented on the royal figure’s move following the gathering and commended her for speaking on a topic she still considered to be taboo.
The singer said she felt honoured to be in attendance alongside other famous faces Rania of Jordan, Sophie Wessex and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
Mel told PA: ‘I feel honoured that I got invited (to the reception) on behalf of Women’s Aid.’
She said Camilla thanked her for all her work in the area and she applauded the Queen Consort for giving women a platform to speak out on the issue of abuse.

‘I think it’s quite amazing and quite brave for her to give awareness to something that is somewhat still a bit taboo.’
‘But there’s such an epidemic of it,’ she explained.
Continuing on the performer exclaimed: ‘It’s just brilliant that she’s kind of lifting up the sheet (on the subject) and not saying “this is what I would do”, she’s saying “I’m giving everyone a platform to be able to raise awareness and talk about it”, which is brilliant.’
The occasion was described by the palace as ‘a high watermark’ of her work on the subject, was also attended by former Love Island star Zara McDermott who recently put out a BBC Three documentary on eating disorders.

During the reception, Camilla herself took to the podium to share her thoughts on the cause.
In her speech, she said: ‘Up to one in three women across the globe will endure domestic abuse in the course of their lifetimes.
‘Behind every one of these statistics lie individual stories of human suffering and heartbreak.
‘I have learnt from my conversations with these brave survivors that what they want, above all, is to be listened to and believed, to prevent the same thing happening to others.’
Her decision to hold the seminar was described by Claire Barnett, executive director of UN Women UK, as “an incredible step forward” in opening dialogue surrounding abuse against females.
