A special event is coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet soon giving you the chance to capture your very own Charizard.

As the first Tera Raid Battle event has concluded in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, featuring none other than the cutest pokémon ever, Eevee, it’s now time for another special event.

This time, you’ll be able to catch a Charizard, another one of the series’ most iconic creatures, as the game’s first Black Crystal Tera Raid is set to kick off soon.

The Charizard event will run across two weekends in December and will give you the chance to catch one with a top-tier Dragon Tera Type.

This will be the first ever Black Crystal raid in both Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and it’s also classed as a ‘seven-star raid,’ meaning that it might be one of the hardest challenges in the game so far.

The first part of the event will start on Thursday, December 1 at around 12pm GMT, and will conclude on Sunday, December 4 at the same time.

It’s likely that Charizard will come with boosted stats, meaning that if you manage to add one to your collection you’ll be able to clear many other difficult quests with ease.

To encounter pokémon featured in Tera Raid Battle events, you need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News, so make sure you prepare in advance to get a head start.

If you’re unable to jump on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet during the Charizard event, don’t worry as you’ll get a second chance later in December – between December 15 and December 18.

While you can take part in the Black Crystal Tera Raids as much as you like during the two weekends, you’ll only be allowed to catch one Charizard in total. Although it’s possible you can use a farming exploit in the game to duplicate your pokémon, if it’s still working.

Moreover, Charizards caught during the special event will carry a rare title, called Mightiest Mark. Although other marks may be used in future Tera Raid events.

For now, don’t forget to claim a Flying Tera Type Pikachu as well, as it’s available for free through the game’s first ever Mystery Gift.
