The reason why Rylan Clark will not be presenting his usual It Takes Two episodes has been revealed.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant has presented the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off, which is on BBC Two, since 2019.

The X Factor star, who used to present the show with Zoe Ball, now shares the honours with dancer Janette Manrara.

Normally, Rylan helms the programme Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, with Janette hosting Wednesdays and Thursdays.

However, this week, Janette presented It Takes Two on Monday and will also do so on Tuesday, with Rylan returning on Friday.

On Monday’s instalment, Janette said: ‘Your eyes are not deceiving you.

‘Rylan has not shrunk it is me, Janette, and I am going to be with you all this week up until Thursday.’

Meanwhile, Rylan had told It Takes Two viewers on Friday’s episode that he would be returning the following Friday.

Metro.co.uk understands Rylan is away because he is working on another project and his absence was agreed in advance.

It is not clear what the 35-year-old TV personality might have been filming, but he is hosting an upcoming Channel 4 sex and relationships documentary.

The special sex positivity series sees singletons learning various ways they can achieve a more fulfilling sex life.

Following the show announcement, Rylan explained that his role as the host will involve ‘helping unlucky-in-love singletons work out where they’re going wrong in their relationships by speaking to the people who they’ve shared their beds with their exes!

‘They’ll help our singletons learn how their previous sexual slip-ups can be turned into a positive so I’m basically going to be Cupid, but six-foot-four and from Essex,’ he added.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Rylan and the BBC for comment.

It Takes Two continues on Tuesday at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
