Lewis Capaldi is among the artists feeling overwhelmed by the support from fans in the wake of Spotify Wrapped 2023 being unveiled.
The annual celebration of music returned on Wednesday with subscribers able to see their listening taste laid bare, with Harry Styles and Taylor Swift dominating the top spots.
Forget Me singer Lewis shared that he had achieved over 1billion streams on the music platform, on top of an incredible 84.4million listeners across 183 countries. Pretty good going, right?
Lewis took to Instagram to thank his fans for listening while also voicing his shock.
‘CAN’T EVEN BEGIN TO COMPREHEND THIS MANY OF YOU LISTENING TO THE TUNES I’VE JUST WRITTEN BACK IN MY SHED IN GLASGOW,’ he wrote.

‘THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH AND CHEERS ALSO TO @SPOTIFY FOR HELPING SO MANY OF YA HEAR THESE.’
Of course, he also used the opportunity to plug his upcoming new track. ‘BRAND NEW SONG “POINTLESS” RELEASED AT MIDNIGHT TOMORROW,’ he added. ‘MAKE SURE IT’S TOP OF YOUR 2023 WRAPPED OR ELSE I’M COMING FOR YOU.’
Lewis wasn’t alone in his appreciation though, with many artists also celebrating Spotify Wrapped day.

‘Thank you for being part of our journey in 2022,’ The Fratellis penned.
The ever-hilarious Dionne Warwick said: ‘If I am on your @Spotify Wrapped let me know. Most of my songs are sad and I am hoping you’re okay. We can talk about it.’
Jazz quintet Ezra Collective marked being a part of Spotify’s Jazz UK Class of 2022 in a post on Instagram.
‘Thank you to all our fans across the world for streaming our music this year,’ they said.
‘Grateful for all of you listening and to @spotifyuk for putting us on the cover of Jazz UK: Class of 2022.’
Spotify revealed Taylor Swift is the most listened to artist this year in the UK this year, following the release of her latest album Midnights.
She is joined by British stars Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Dave, Arctic Moneys and D-Block Europe in the top 10 artists listened to by listeners up and down the country.
This year’s top UK track belonged to Styles, with his banger As It Was, which reached close to 97million streams.

Kate Bush’s classic track Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) also made the top five following a resurgence in popularity thanks to its appearance in the Netflix series Stranger Things.
