The man responsible for the death of Gone Girl actress Lisa Bane in a hit-and-run has been sentenced.
Banes died in June 2021 days after being struck down by a scooter in New York, with the driver fleeing the scene.
Brian Boyd was later arrested and charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death without reporting it to authorities.
The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to the charges in September and was awaiting sentencing until the judge revealed his decision on Wednesday.
Judge Gregory Carro sentenced Boyd to one to three years at the Manhattan Supreme Court despite prosecutors seeking a three to nine-year sentence.
The judge acknowledged Boyd’s admission of guilt in a plea deal.

It was previously revealed how Bane was on her way to meet her wife Kathryn Kranhold when Boyd ran a red light on his unregistered E-scooter and striking her down.
Before the sentencing, Kranhold told the court: ‘Lisa saw him coming at her, but she couldn’t move fast enough, nobody could move fast enough.’
She also branded Boyd ‘heartless and reckless’.

Assistant District Attorney Erin LaFarge also said: ‘He has not learned anything from this experience, and that is a terrifying thought.’
A rep for Banes confirmed her death on June 15, 2021, saying in a statement: ‘We are heartsick over Lisa’s tragic and senseless passing.
‘She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera and even more so to her wife, family and friends.
‘We were blessed to have had her in our lives.’
Banes was best known for starring in 2014’s Gone Girl alongside Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, playing Marybeth Elliott. In 1988, the actress starred alongside Tom Cruise in the movie Cocktail.
She’s also had memorable TV appearances in the likes of Nashville, The Orville, and has appeared in Masters of Sex and Royal Pains.
