In news that will surprise no one, Piers Morgan has fired shots at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trailer for their bombshell Netflix documentary, labelling them ‘repulsive hypocrites’ and the trailer ‘vomit-inducing’.

The streaming platform has released a first look at the highly-anticipated production, which will take viewers behind the scenes of the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The couple have been working on the project since making a home for themselves in the US, after stepping down as senior working members of the royal family.

In the trailer, Harry, 38, states: ‘No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors…I had to do everything I could to protect my family,’ while Meghan, 41, adds: ‘When the stakes are this high doesn’t it make more sense to hear our stories from us?’

It also includes several previously unseen, intimate snaps of the couple, who were married in May 2018 at Windsor Castle and who now have two children together, Archie and Lilibet.

Over the years, TalkTV presenter Piers, 57, has been one of Meghan’s most vocal critics, even storming out during a debate on Good Morning Britain when called out for his views by weatherman Alex Beresford.

So of course, it wasn’t going to be long before he had his say on the trailer, and his opinion is as scathing as it is predictable.

Re-sharing the trailer posted by the Netflix Twitter account on his own profile, he remarked: ‘OMG. This is already vomit-inducing,’ alongside a row of vomiting emojis.

He then added in a follow-up tweet: ‘Imagine bleating about privacy then doing a kiss-and-tell reality series about your private lives? Then imagine preaching compassion as you trash your family again?

‘Then imagine releasing 1st trailer deliberately to ruin your brother’s big trip to America? Repulsive hypocrites.’

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently travelled to the US, making their way to Boston ahead of their meeting with the US President Joe Biden on Friday.

While Netflix has described Harry and Meghan’s documentary as a ‘global event’, an air date is yet to be confirmed.

It’s also unclear if the documentary – which is titled Harry & Meghan – will be a limited series.

A spokesperson for Netflix said it ‘explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution’.

‘The series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.’

Harry & Meghan is set to air on Netflix.
