Following the death of Power Rangers star Jason David Frank, his wife Tammie Frank has spoken out to reveal that her husband died by suicide.

Last week, it was confirmed that the actor had died at the age of 49 on November 19 while in Texas, with tributes flooding in for the late star.

In a statement released by his representative, it said: ‘Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed.’

Mr Frank’s wife, Tammie Frank, who he married in 2003, has addressed his cause of death, telling People: ‘My name is Tammie Frank, and my husband was Jason David Frank, who tragically lost his life to suicide just last week.’

Mrs Frank stressed that her husband ‘lived a very normal life with ups and downs’, and she ‘can no longer stand to watch my husband’s good name slandered’ following his death.

She said her partner’s death ‘comes as much a shock to me as anyone else’, addressing his struggle with mental health issues and depression before recalling the weekend getaway they went on together where he died.

Mrs Frank explained that while the couple had been planning to separate, at the time of his death, they had ‘called off our separation and were in the process of reuniting’.

As part of their plans to reconcile, Mr Frank planned a two-night getaway for them, which involved attending a country dancing event.

The couple had two separate hotel rooms for the trip, Mrs Frank outlined, ‘because that’s just how we do things – simply put, my husband snored’.

After enjoying their evening of dancing, they were sharing a ‘heartfelt and emotional talk’ in Mr Frank’s hotel room, before Mrs Frank went downstairs to get snacks to help him ‘relax and sober up before turning down to sleep’.

When Mrs Frank returned, there was no answer at his door, before police discovered the actor in his hotel room.

Mrs Frank urged people to ‘stop making assumptions and leave my family to grieve peacefully’, saying that she wants to remember her ‘happiest memories’ with her husband.

‘To all the fans and supporters of Jason and our family, thank you for your kind words and wishes and God bless you all,’ she added.
