A recent tweet from Hideo Kojima only depicts a few context-less logos but fans suspect he’s hinting at a Death Stranding 2 reveal.

Fans already know that Hideo Kojima is busy with at least two video game projects. The first of these is his Xbox exclusive, which is assumed to be the rumoured survival horror title Overdose.

The second is the sequel to Death Stranding. Given the first game’s overall success, a sequel felt like a guarantee. Kojima has been tight-lipped about it, but actor Norman Reedus has insisted it’s been in the works since last year.

With this year’s The Game Awards almost upon us, it’s now speculated that official details on Death Stranding 2 will be shared during the event, thanks to a typically cryptic tweet from Kojima.

The tweet only consists of an image depicting three white logos against a black background.

The first resembles a compass and is apparently for something called the Automated Public Assistance Company, the second depicts an umbrella, and the third looks like an octopus or squid of some kind.

It being tied to a Game Awards reveal seems like a safe bet given the event is but a week away and is expected to host a number of major game announcements.

On top of that, event organiser and host Geoff Keighley responded to the tweet with a GIF that says ‘Hmm, interesting,’ which basically implies that he already knows what it is and is just helping drum up excitement.

At a first glance, Kojima’s hint doesn’t contain any direct references to Death Stranding or its setting, but fans theorise that the logos are meant to be for new companies that will appear in the sequel.

It’s death stranding 2. I mean the middle logo is literally an umbrella like the one Fragile uses

The logo in the middle seems like a new logo for Bridges, while Automated Public Assistance is definitely another new company in Death Stranding 2! 🤔
Same might apply for the third logo.
I’m sure ready to start a new journey, don’t keep us waiting boss!

If you look at the logos closely all of them are ocean/sea related. Compass, bridge, sea monster. Death Stranding 2 or Overdose will be based around the ocean, islands, sea creatures?

— RaderChek (@RaderChek) December 2, 2022

As one fan has pointed out, the umbrella is a familiar icon for Death Stranding players as the character Fragile is usually seen holding one.

Another also theorises that the sequel will involve ocean travel, as evidenced by the compass and octopus looking logos.

Do you think Death Stranding 2 will be revealed at The Game Awards?Comment Now

The connections run deeper when you remember that Keighley also cameoed in Death Stranding. Although considering he and Kojima are close friends, he’d be hyping up whatever Kojima’s announcement is, be it Death Stranding 2 or something else entirely.

Since this is Kojima we’re talking about, even if there is a Death Stranding 2 reveal at The Game Awards it’d likely only raise further questions regarding its story and gameplay. After all, let’s not forget how utterly bizarre and incomprehensible the original announcement trailer for Death Stranding was.

The Game Awards 2022 is scheduled for December 9 at 12:30am.
