Strictly Come Dancing 2022 Helen Skelton is said to have taken ‘revenge’ on her ex Richie Myler by selling some possessions that they received as wedding presents.

Throughout this year’s series of the BBC competition, Skelton and her professional partner Gorka Márquez have gone from strength to strength, with the pair earning the top spot on the leaderboard in week five.

They’ve yet to land in the bottom two, with bookmakers speculating they could have a good chance of lifting the Glitterball Trophy in the grand finale.

On Monday December 5, the Countryfile presenter is set to appear on Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House, during which auctioneer Angus Ashworth will discover ‘quirky mementoes’ in her home, the synopsis said.

During the programme, the 39-year-old is said to have sold an antique vaulting horse, which she and Myler received as a gift for their wedding day.

The couple were married in 2013, before separating earlier this year four months after welcoming their third child together.

In October this year, it was reported that Myler was expecting another baby with his girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill months after leaving the familial home he shared with Skelton.

According to a source, Skelton decided it was time to move forward by selling some of the sentimental items she and Myler used to share together.

‘Helen needed a huge sort out after the break-up and despite some of the items possessing many memories, she felt it was best she sold them on,’ they told The Sun.

On the show, Skelton explained how she wished to turn her home in Leeds into two separate houses, one that she’d live in and another that she’d sell to someone else.

Addressing her decision to clear out her old belongings, she said: ‘This is a great opportunity to get rid of a load of stuff.’

It’s been said the auctioning of her 18 possessions will fetch £965 in the sale on the programme.

On tonight’s Strictly, the celebrities and their pro dancers will be taking on Musicals Week, with Skelton and Márquez performing a Couple’s Choice to Mein Herr from Cabaret.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Helen’s representatives for comment.

Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House airs on Monday night at 9pm on Really.
