After being the biggest success story of Glastonbury 2022, naturally Sugababes have offered to share their tips with Sir Elton John.
The Rocket Man has been announced as the first headlining act for Glastonbury 2023, with the performance also marking his final ever UK show during his last ever tour.
Well, if he’s battling those pre-show jitters there is literally no one better to turn to than three-piece Siobhan Doherty, Keisha Buchanan and Mutya Buena – who last year managed to shut down the Avalon stage when a stampede of fans came charging to see the chart-toppers perform at Worthy Farm, despite their set clashing with headliner Billie Eilish.
We can vouch, they were the highlight of the weekend.
‘It was amazing,’ Keisha said during Friday’s Good Morning Britain.
‘We were told that we were gonna be doing a tent and it was 3,000 capacity. Literally before we walked on they were like, “So we had to shut down the field. We were like, “Oh my gosh!”

Asked if they’ll be giving any advice to next year’s headliner, Siobhán added: ‘It’s not his first time is it? But yeah, we’ll fill him in!’
Actually, the performance does mark Sir Elton’s first time at the festival, unbelievably.
The pop icon said he was ‘so excited’ to be closing the Pyramid Stage on Sunday June 25.
‘As the end of my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour comes into view, there is no more fitting way to say goodbye to my British fans.

‘They have been beyond brilliant, and have supported me through all the highs and lows of my career.
‘Every week I speak to new artists on my radio show and Glastonbury is often cited as a pivotal moment in launching their careers – the festival’s genuine, enthusiastic support for the best emerging talent is something I’ve long admired.
‘I’ve been talking to Emily Eavis about it over the last few weeks and I can’t wait to embrace the spirit of the greatest festival in the world. It’s going to be incredibly emotional.’
A tweet from Glastonbury confirming the news said: ‘We are incredibly excited to announce that the one and only @EltonOfficial will headline the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night at Glastonbury 2023, for what will be the final UK show of his last ever tour.’
Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis added: ‘It gives me enormous pleasure to let you know that the one and only Elton John will be making his first ever Glastonbury appearance, headlining the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday night next year.
‘This will be the final UK show of Elton’s last ever tour, so we will be closing the festival and marking this huge moment in both of our histories with the mother of all send-offs. We are so very happy to finally bring the Rocket Man to Worthy Farm!’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
Sugababes will be playing their own headline set at London’s 02 Arena on September 15, tickets available now.
