WWE superstar Kevin Owens has opened up about his current health status and admitted he was already hurt going into his main event match on Raw.
On Monday night, Owens beat Jey Uso in a brilliant and physical bout just two days after he joined Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Ridge Holland and Butch in a grueling WarGames battle against The Bloodline.
This came after he reportedly suffered a knee injury at a live event on November 13, with his role in last weekend’s Survivor Series show called into question.
Obviously, he appeared at both the premium live event and Raw earlier this week, but KO has revealed he is dealing with some ‘aches and pains’.
Appearing on WWE After The Bell, he said: ‘My back was really bothering me going into it [WWE Raw], already, and I’ve had knee issues the last few weeks.
‘I went in feeling pretty beat up, but it worked out really good and I think everyone enjoyed the match, and so did I. It’s nice to walk away from it all with people enjoying what you do.’
The former Universal Champion explained how the way he’s feeling ‘changes by the way’, and sometimes he only notices the pain when he ‘starts walking’.
‘I guess I’m fine, I think. It really changes by the day. You could ask me that question tomorrow and I’m feeling awful, but today I’m okay,’ he added.
‘I’ll get out of my car and my back could be shot and I’m not aware until I start walking. The last few months have been interesting in that aspect. I’ll wake up fine and by 2 o’clock, my knees don’t work.’
‘It really hasn’t started hitting me until recently, honestly. These weird aches and pains will come and go. In this moment, I’m sitting in my truck, I feel great.’
It doesn’t sound like Owens is going to be taking any extended time away, and he’s currently embroiled in the ongoing Bloodline saga despite telling longtime friend and rival Sami Zayn that he wants nothing to do with him anymore as a partner or opponent.
WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
