Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has paid tribute to her dog Kate, who died in her sleep.

The 48-year-old, who split from her husband Clive Owen after being married for 22 years earlier this year, announced the sad news on Instagram.

The TV personality shared some adorable pictures of the border collie enjoying the great outdoors as she wrote she explained the pooch had died in her sleep.

Amanda captioned the post: ‘Then there’s the other kind of mourning. 🙏 Where you go to get your faithful workmate, companion, colleague & friend from her kennel.

‘Only to find that she has passed away in her sleep. 🐶 Kate….that’ll do. 😭’

Friends and fans were quick to share their condolences, with presenter and adventurer Ben Fogle penning: ‘Oh no. I’m so sorry 😢 x.’

A follower commented: ‘So sorry to hear this. She lived Her best collie life with you ❤.’

Another remarked: ‘I know just how you must be feeling. My heart breaks every time I think of my collie and black lab who both passed away too soon.’

A well-wisher said: ‘Ahhhh so sorry to read this. Run free over the bridge Kate old girl 💔🌈. May the heavenly fields be full of obedient sheep 🐑 ❤️.’

An Our Yorkshire Farm fan added: ‘Thank you for sharing your incredible bond with her, it was such a joy to see her work and her love for you all. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Rest easy, Kate ❤️.’

In June, Amanda announced she and Clive had parted ways, saying that they would continue to ‘work and co-parent together.’

The pair share nine children together – Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clemmie, and Nancy.

Clive and Amanda – who met in 1996 – have details of their lives played out on-screen during their popular Channel 5 series, which details the trials and tribulations of living at Ravenseat Farm, Yorkshire.

A spin-off of the Channel 5 series is also in the works, but, according to reports, Amanda will not be returning.

The new programme will instead focus on Clive and his son Reuben as they launch their own digging business and is set to premiere on December 6.
