‘Obvious’ Cyberpunk 2077 Game of the Year Edition confirmed for 2023 after the DLC-Michael Beckwith-Entertainment – Metro
Much like The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 will see a re-release in 2023 that bundles the game with all the DLC, including Phantom Liberty.

Much like The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 will see a re-release in 2023 that bundles the game with all the DLC, including Phantom Liberty.
Back before the game had even launched, CD Projekt confirmed that it would approach Cyberpunk 2077’s post-launch DLC similarly to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
So far, that’s proven to be the case. Aside from minor additional DLC added for free, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to receive a paid expansion that adds new story content, just like The Witcher 3.
The similarities won’t end there, though, as CD Projekt’s CEO and president Adam Kiciński has revealed that the company’s planning to release a Game of the Year Edition in 2023.
For context, The Witcher 3 received a Game of the Year Edition just over a year after its release, which came with the base game, all the DLC, and both the Hearts Of Stone and Blood And Wine expansions.
While an exact release date for Cyberpunk 2077’s Game of The Year Edition wasn’t shared, it won’t release until after the game’s Phantom Liberty expansion.
Said expansion also lacks a release date, but while it was only unveiled this past September it is aiming for a 2023 release.
‘It’s a natural order of things – it was the same with The Witcher, which after both expansions was finally released as a Game of the Year Edition and has been on the market that way ever since. The same can be expected in this case. It’s quite obvious,’ Kiciński told investors, according to Polish website Stockwatch.
He added that it will be sold at full price and come after another major update that’s planned for the game, though he didn’t divulge the details of that.
While he doesn’t mention release platforms, the Game of the Year Edition will no doubt only be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
This is because the Phantom Liberty expansion is already slated to release for those platforms and not the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The news also reiterates CD Projekt’s intentions of only making one DLC expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. In October, lead level designer Miles Tost implied on Twitter that this is because the company is choosing to focus on Project Orion, the as of yet untitled Cyberpunk 2077 sequel.
It’s unclear whether CD Projekt plans on making a more formal announcement at The Game Awards this week. Although if Cyberpunk 2077 is going to make any sort of appearance, it’d more likely be to advertise new details for the Phantom Liberty.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
