Mariah Carey proved that she’s nothing short of a true professional after an awkward fashion moment mid-performance on Monday night.
The All I want For Christmas Is You singer put on a show at the Moët & Chandon holiday party in New York, dazzling guests with her vocal efforts.
However, the 52-year-old was forced to make up a song on the spot to distract the impressed crowd when a strap for her dress broke on stage.
As her team rushed to fix the faux pas, she ad-libbed lyrics joking about the situation, before continuing on with the show as if nothing ever happened.
A total pro.
Taking to Instagram after leaving the stage, Mariah joked that they were close to seeing a ‘full-on scandal’ erupt.

‘Oh my Gosh, it was very, very close to being a full-on scandal but we made it work,’ she told fans. ‘This part broke – it came untethered, I should say.
‘But we got it back and everybody was super professional.
‘I just had to make up a little song about [it].’
‘It was just a freestyle moment,’ she added. ‘It is what it was, it’s nothing great. We made it.’

‘For one time only, I’m giving two fans the opportunity to have an unforgettable and magical extravaganza!
