Simon Cowell, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly didn’t let any recent Britain’s Got Talent drama dull their high spirits as they took part in a charity fundraising initiative together.

The trio were seen reuniting for ICAP’s 30th annual charity day on Wednesday, amid growing speculation of whether or not David Walliams will return to BGT alongside them next year as a judge.

The aim of the charitable event is to raise money for organisations across the globe, accumulating millions of pounds for charities worldwide.

For the entire day, broker company ICAP donates 100% of its revenue and brokers’ commission to charity, with several celebrities including the likes of Holly Willoughby, Will Poulter, Rachel Riley and Keith Lemon taking part.

To mark the day, Simon, Ant and Dec – who all work together on BGT – visited the firm’s headquarters in London, grinning from ear to ear as they picked up the phones on the trading floor.

BGT hosts Ant and Dec, who recently returned from Australia after filming the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, are Goodwill ambassadors for The Prince’s Trust, while BGT judge Simon is vice president of the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices charity.

While they were clearly in jovial moods, they did their part to help raise money for the charities, answering calls to help brokers close deals with clients and therefore raising as much as they could for the various organisations benefiting from the day.

In a statement, Prince William expressed his support for ICAP’s milestone charity day, which also raises money for the charity The Passage, of which he is a patron.

‘As patron of The Passage, I have seen first hand the vital work that they do to support people who are street homeless. It is a mission that has never been more important, that’s why I am very grateful to ICAP for supporting The Passage in this their 30th year of charity day,’ he said in a message posted on Twitter.

‘Since 1993, ICAP charity day has raised over £155 million for thousands of incredible causes across the globe and have supported millions of people. It’s a legacy to be proud of and one that continues right now.’

BGT judge David is set to return to the TV show for the festive special – Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician – which is due to air later this month.

However, it is still unclear whether he will come back to the main show on the judging panel, with an insider telling Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s still very much up in the air at the moment on whether David is going to take part in next year’s show. No decision, though, has been made as yet.’

A spokesperson for the talent competition also added that the ‘judging panel for Britain’s Got Talent 2023 will be announced in due course’.

David sparked controversy when an audio transcript recorded on his mic on the series in 2020 picked up on his ridiculing auditionees with swearing remarks.

He issued an apology, stating: ‘These were private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.’

Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician is due to air on Sunday December 18 at 8pm on ITV.
