Ryan Reynolds proved he’s the ultimate Shania Twain fanboy with his giddy reaction to being called out by the icon at a recent performance.

This week, the I Feel Like A Woman chart-topper took to the stage for a stellar performance at the People’s Choice Awards, where she, naturally, wowed the crowd.

As for the crowd itself, there were more than a few familiar faces thanks to some of the world’s biggest celebrities attending the star-studded event.

One of them being Hollywood legend, Deadpool star and Wrexham FC co-owner Ryan.

The country singer famously name-dropped Hollywood actor Brad on her 1997 classic hit That Don’t Impress Me Much, telling her vain yet good-looking admirer: ‘Okay, so you’re Brad Pitt.’

During a rendition of the legendary pop track, Shania cheekily changed the lyrics to her new celebrity crush, namely: ‘Okay, so you’re Ryan Reynolds. That don’t impress me much.’

At which point the cameras panned to Ryan in the crowd, who looked genuinely delighted to get the shout-out from the singer, and was seen mouthing: ‘That’s me!’ before bursting into laughter.

Shania later uploaded a clip of the moment to Twitter, writing alongside it that she was ‘sorry not sorry.’

Far from being offended that he didn’t impress Shania however, Ryan was on top of the world, and responded to the star gushing that he was basically honoured.

‘I can’t think of a more iconic, smart and beautiful person to not impress all that much,’ he wrote.

I can’t think of a more iconic, smart and beautiful person to not impress all that much. Thank you for an amazing night, @ShaniaTwain ❤️ https://t.co/od2KsUoo2s

He added: ‘Thank you for an amazing night, @ShaniaTwain.’

The celebrated actor is currently working on the upcoming Deadpool 3, which will feature the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine – news that sent the fanbase into a frenzy.

However before the release of the latest in the Deadpool franchise in 2024, Ryan and wife Blake Lively will be welcoming a new addition to their family, after announcing they were expecting again earlier this year.
