Claudia Winkleman’s murder mystery, The Traitors, has had everyone hooked since it kicked off a week ago.

The gripping 12-parter sees 22 contestants move into a castle where they’ll take on challenges to try and win the prize money, which could reach £120,000.

The only catch is that three contestants are actually Traitors, and each night they ‘murder’ one of the Faithfuls.

By day, all the contestants vote to try and find out who is who, leading to one player getting banished and losing their chance of winning.

The contestants are all faced with taking part in challenges, some of which include being buried alive, being hung upside down on a rollercoaster, or facing some eerie masked faces in a church.

All filming, as well as where the contestants are staying, takes place in Ardross Castle.

Where is Ardross Castle?

The recruits join Strictly Come Dancing’s Claudia at Ardross Castle in Alness, north of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, around a 40 minute drive from Inverness airport.

The building was built in the 19th century in the Scottish baronial style and boasts formal gardens and 100 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Alness.

After hailing the prestige location as ‘beautiful’, Claudia said: ‘It felt sometimes like we were in a painting if that’s not too cheesy.

‘And on the first day the weather systems were bonkers. I mean, at one point I went on my weather app and it literally just said no idea mate good luck, take a bikini and a cagoule.

‘On day two, we saw a double rainbow and everyone was like oh my gosh, and the crew were crying, there were baby deer, there was beautiful heather, there were ancient trees, and an ancient loch.’

Can you visit it?

Unfortunately, Ardross Castle isn’t available to the general public to visit.

However, you can stay at the Castle if you’re renting it for an event, including weddings and corporate retreats.

As well as 100 acres of parkland, the castle has more than 30 rooms for overnight stays, and can cater up to 120 guests for weddings.

As well as enjoying the scenery and maybe even recreating your own game of The Traitors, guests at the Castle can go fly fishing, hire mountain bikes, enjoy guided walks and go whisky tasting.

The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
