Jessie Ware has recalled how she didn’t enjoy the early days of her career but she’ll be making up for lost time.
The hitmaker, 38, opened up about the early years of her rise to fame and how daunting they were for the young starlet.
From releasing her first solo single in 2011 to hosting popular podcast Table Manners with mum Lennie, the artist has become a professional plate spinner but she revealed it hasn’t been an easy road.
She reflected on her life thus far ahead the new year and shared her plans to make the next 12 months her best yet.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk at the launch of her Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru x Table Manners supper club in Camden, Jessie explained: ‘I don’t think I enjoyed my job as a singer when I was really starting out.
‘I worried about the next thing and the next thing and I can’t say this any less tritely but being in the present, enjoying the moment, taking those moments and enjoying it with your friends and family is really important.’

She continued on to express how little she’d done this in the past, stating: ‘I think I didn’t do that many times because I was so terrified so I’m just gonna have loads of fun next year!’
Revealing plans for new music in the springtime, the songbird and host excitedly predicted her 2023 future while confirming she was ready to continue wearing both her podcasting and musician hats.
‘It’s going to be interesting, I’ve got a new record coming out in spring time and I’ve just been on tour for six weeks.
‘Managing the podcast with music – we make it work. They’re both wonderful jobs, we made it work in the pandemic so we’ll carry on, it’s fine.’

The Say You Love Me singer hinted at bigger podcast guests and revealed the stars now come knocking on her door for interviews.
‘I’m excited about who is going to approach us around Oscar season. Who will come a-knocking?
‘Usually around award season we always get a few stellar actors for the podcast.’
Despite washing away any doubts she would be ultimately dropping one for the other, Jessie did touch on the toll running two separate careers can take on the mother of three.
She said: ‘I’m doing two full time jobs, one of them is quite lovely and I get to meet new people so we make the juggle work.
‘I’m very lucky I have two very fantastic jobs where I get to interact with people and that’s where I thrive so plenty more of that in 2023.’
Already kick-starting her new year’s pledge to have ‘a lot of fun’, the famous voice welcomed guests to her supper club in collaboration with Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru at the gin brand’s new pop-up location, Bar Citral at Ester in London.
