It all got too much for a Queen competing on the current season of Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World.
The series, a spinoff of Canada’s Drag Race, is the second edition of the Drag Race franchise to feature queens from international versions of the competition.
Competitors this season previously starred on American, British, Canadian, and Australian and New Zealand instalments, including Vanity Milan and Victoria Scone, who both appeared in the third season of Drag Race UK.
However on the latest episode, the season 2 winner of Canada’s Drag Race, Icesis Couture bowed out after admitting she was struggling to ‘keep up’.
As the remaining group were preparing for the comedy roast challenge, she became emotional and started crying at her station after brushing off conversations with other Queens.
While doing her make-up, Icesis said that she was ‘struggling to focus’ and there was ‘so much going through my mind that I can’t be in the moment right now’.

The other contestants picked up on what was happening, and Ra’Jah O’Hara went to check on her before she broke down.
‘It’s just too much for me. I’m just so tired. There’s just so much going on with me, personally. I’m trying to keep up, but I don’t want to anymore,’ she said through tears.
She added that physically and mentally she couldn’t ‘keep up’ anymore, but had come to do ‘what I needed to do’.
‘I’ve just been doing it for so long, I just need a break from it and I think I jumped back into it too soon because I just wanted to be with everybody, and I’m trying, but I don’t want to try anymore.’
In a confessional, she broke down again, saying: ‘I have to take my own advice, making sure everyone knows it’s okay to not be okay, and this is literally me saying I’m not okay anymore’.
‘I just need to go home and I hope that everybody understands,” she said.

Given total support by the other Queens, Ra’Jah said to ‘take her time’ to take care of herself and ‘the man behind the glamour’.
‘Your drag is valid and your drag is important, but your mental health and your sanity is even more important,’ she said.
On the last season of Canada Drag Race, Icesis spoke about how she had a ‘bad high school experience’, in addition to suffering from bullying at home, with the queen sharing that she reached a point ‘where I wanted to end my life’ and consequently received hospital treatment and therapy.
Before she left the Werk Room, the group all embraced Icesis.
Later in the episode, judge Brooke Lynn Hytes informed the panel of the departure and said that while the were sad to see her leave, they were ‘happy she’s put herself first, and we wish her all the best’.
There was plenty of support on social media too, with one fan saying that prioritising her mental health was ‘one of the bravest things you can do’.

As a result of her leaving, no Queen was eliminated this week.
There are still five Queens left in the competition, which previously saw the Canadian Prime Minister appear as a special guest in the second episode.
