Adele has revealed she’s having therapy again to cope with the enormity of her Las Vegas residency, after previously having ‘five sessions a day’ during her divorce.

The Hello singer is in the throes of her Weekends With Adele concert series in Vegas, which launched last month after a 10-month delay due to production issues. Running through until March, Adele, 34, will perform each Friday and Saturday at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

It’s no secret that live performing has been challenging for the singer as she’s previously been open about getting stage fright.

Adele’s now shared that she’s speaking to a therapist again for the first time since she had sessions during her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki in 2019.

Speaking to the audience at her Vegas show on Saturday, the Easy On Me hitmaker explained: ‘I started having therapy again because I went a few years without. I needed to start.

‘Before, obviously, when I was going through my divorce, I was basically having five therapy sessions a day.’

In a clip shared by a concert-goer, Adele continued: ‘But I stopped holding myself accountable for my own behaviour and the things I would say.

‘But now I am doing it because I just want to make sure I’m topping myself up every week to make sure I can give you everything.’

She grew tearful as she added: ‘And my whole therapy session this week was really interesting. It was about these shows. I always get so emotional. I love making music, but there is something about performing live that actually terrifies me and fills me with dread.

‘That is why I am not a big touring artist. I did it last time to prove I could do it. But this experience of being in a room this size, I think I might be a live artist for the rest of my life.’

The Grammy-winner, who has 10-year-old son Angelo with Simon, and is now in a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul.

During the Saturday performance, Adele confirmed she’s been keeping up with the World Cup and expressed her relief that Argentina won their quarter-final match against the Netherlands on Friday.

Speaking to an audience member from Argentina, she said: ‘Thank God you won on penalties. Love you Messi.’

Weekends With Adele returns to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on December 16 and 17.
