France crowned winner of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with 13-year-old entry Lissandro-Emily Bashforth-Entertainment – Metro

Junior Eurovision 2022 has a winner!
France’s entry Lissandro was crowned champion of the annual song contest following a series of epic performances from youngsters around the world.
The 13-year-old hails from the small village of Moselle in east France and, very impressively, sings in five languages.
His final performance of Oh Maman led to him topping the jury vote and placing third with the public before lifting the trophy.
‘I’m so happy!’, the teen exclaimed.
His winning song is a real inspirational tune, with lyrics including: ‘I step on stage, nothing stops me, not the nos, nor the what are you doing, stop!

‘I take my guitar, I’m not afraid of anything, I’m a star for a chorus.’
He used his lyrics to deliver a positive message of perseverance and determination, encouraging others to believe in themselves no matter what.
Lissandro’s previous experience in the entertainment industry includes the seventh season of The Voice and he’s also a professional cartoon dubber, with a love of all things rock and pop.
A big fan of stars including Elvis Presley and Bruno Mars, Lissandro is a born performer, having previously described Junior Eurovision as ‘the adventure of a lifetime.’
After France scored 132 points, Georgia placed second with 114 points.
In third was Armenia with 110 points, while Ireland was awarded 88 points.

Completing the top five was the United Kingdom, with 66 points.
Of course, the UK finished in second in the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year, thanks to Sam Ryder and his epic ballad, Space Man.

Ukraine placed first but due to the ongoing war in their country, Eurovision 2023 will be held in Liverpool.
While details are still being finalised, the ceremony hopes to honour Ukraine and its culture.
