Strictly Come Dancing 2022 star Molly Rainford could have another stage in her sights, with claims she’s been tipped to represent the UK at Eurovision 2023.
Next year, the Eurovision Song Contest is due to take place in Liverpool, after it was determined that winners Ukraine would be unable to host in their own country amid the ongoing conflict with Russia.
As the UK’s act Sam Ryder came in second place, it was decided that the UK would be the next host for the competition, while it was promised that Ukrainian culture would be honoured and celebrated at the event.
On Sunday evening, Molly, 22, is set to take to the dancefloor for two performances with her professional dance partner Carlos Gu, 28, on Strictly for the highly-anticipated semi-final.
Having found fame at 11 years old when she competed on Britain’s Got Talent, it’s been reported that she could be a strong contender to be the UK’s next Eurovision act.
A source close to the team involved in selecting the UK’s Eurovision act told the Mail on Sunday: ‘Molly has all of the attributes to be a great act for the UK. She has a fantastic voice and she has a huge fan base.’

The publication claimed that ‘discussions’ are being had to deliberate over Molly possibly being chosen, with the insider adding: ‘She is a real performer and has worked her way into the showbusiness industry through hard graft. She is the epitome of what the UK candidate should be. It’s very exciting.
‘She has won massive new support by taking part on Strictly so hopefully the nation will be behind her.’
Earlier this week, Molly reunited with Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell, 63, a decade after she took part in the talent competition.

While they were both appearing on The One Show, CBBC star Molly was told by Simon how he remembered her ‘incredible’ audition.
‘I remember thinking it was incredible. You do remember those great auditions,’ he remarked.
Despite delivering a strong performance on last week’s Strictly, Molly and Carlos wound up in the bottom two, but they were saved by the judges.
Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima were therefore sent home just a week short of the semi-final.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Molly Rainford’s representatives for comment.
Strictly Come Dancing next airs on Sunday night at 7.15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
