Captain Lee Rosbach has offered an update on his health after being forced to leave Below Deck.
The fan-proclaimed stud of the sea confirmed his exit in last night’s episode, explaining that his injury was ‘getting worse’.
In emotional scenes, the 73-year-old gathered his crew to voice his decision to leave the boat and focus purely on his recovery, with an unnamed captain coming on in his place.
Although his replacement has not been revealed, viewers are convinced that Captain Sandy Yawn – who helms the way on Below Deck Mediterranean – will be arriving in the wheelhouse next week.
Taking to Twitter after the instalment, he penned: ‘What a night eh? Thanks for tuning in, I appreciate it so much.
‘You guys know the drill, gym in the am and to those I missed tonight, catch you on the flip side.
‘Next week show should be interesting to say the least. See y’all then.’
When a fan asked how his health is doing now, Captain Lee vowed that he’s improving on a daily basis.
‘Im doing just fine, and getting better every day [sic],’ he added.
Followers were thrilled with the news, with a Twitter user replying: ‘Glad to hear that Captain Lee. Below Deck wouldn’t be the same without you.’
‘You are a legend and we wish you better days ahead,’ another agreed.
A fan said: ‘I’m so happy to hear that @capthlr Thank you!’
Captain Lee has become a staple of the boat-based series since the first season kicked off in 2013, and has appeared in nearly every episode.
However, before filming on the 10th and current series began, he underwent surgery on his back and had been working hard to regain his fitness.

‘I am a little incapacitated,’ he told his staff in the premiere. ‘I have a nerve issue on my left side so I am going to depend on you guys in some areas.’
Viewers then saw him using a cane on deck and struggling with his mobility, leading to a tough decision from the Captain.
Sitting his staff down, he informed them: ‘My injury, it’s getting worse. The left side of my body, I don’t feel anything.

‘I expected a lot more progress than I’m experiencing, and the most frustrating part about it is, I can’t do a God damn thing about it, and it’s hard.’
‘As you guys know, I’ve been struggling with my mobility, and it’s been hard,’ he said.
‘And I’ve let you guys down, and for that, I apologize. So I’ve made a decision to leave the boat.’
Below Deck airs on Bravo in the US and is available to stream on hayu in the UK.
