Billie Piper is returning to our screens in just days – and this season, she’s starring alongside a RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Queen.
The first season of I Hate Suzie, starring the Doctor Who actor as the titular character Suzie Pickles, was released to critical acclaim in August 2020.
In the upcoming second series, Billie’s Suzie recovers from almost losing everything and everyone and now the child star has a new agent and new job on a reality dance show.
Making a cameo early on in the show is Drag Race’s Jonbers Blonde, who made it to the finals of the BBC Three competition this year, not long before making her debut alongside Billie.
The 33-year-old from Belfast admitted being a ‘massive fan’ of the Secret Diary of a Call Girl actress.
‘She’s amazing,’ Jonbers gushed, before revealing just how inspired they were.

‘With these things, you film the scene quite a lot of times and sometimes they change it, it has to be shot from loads of different angles, and there were some moments that were on the cusp moments and improvisation.
‘And I was really in awe of them both [Billie and co-star Leila Farzad] and the scene is very funny, and every time as they would walk off and I was off camera, I would laugh every single time, they would find new ways of saying it, and I felt really inspired, watching what they do.’
Teasing some of those improvised shots, Jonbers revealed: ‘There were a couple of things we changed, we wanted to try a couple of different ways.

‘I have an interaction with Billie and we tried it a couple of different ways, we tried different hand gestures, a couple of different things. But I don’t want to give too much away!’
The Drag Race star also shared how being in the competition made long days filming for I Hate Suzie Too that much easier.
‘I was luckily aware of long days and being in drag for long periods of time and used to being given lines and having to do quick spot stuff.’

They added, speaking about auditioning for the role and taping themselves: ‘It’s quite a daunting thing but because I’d just been through the ride of Drag Race, I thought that if I can do that I can throw myself about the living room.
‘It was such a fun experience, it was a really joyful thing to do, they made it really fun because the days were so long.’
I Hate Suzie Too premieres on Tuesday December 20 at 9pm on Sky Atlantic.
