CD Projekt has admitted problems with the next gen version of The Witcher 3, but so far only the PC edition…

After months of waiting, and several delays, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next gen update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC launched today.

Unfortunately for CD Projekt, the release has been less than smooth, particularly for the PC version. It didn’t take long for players to express frustration and displeasure with the update’s performance.

While it being a free update means CD Projekt doesn’t need to worry about issuing refunds, it has now acknowledged the complaints and pledges to address them.

It hasn’t gone too deeply into the specifics, with its statement only saying that it’s ‘actively investigating all of the reports’ and will provide updates on ‘particular issues’ ASAP.

In a separate tweet, CD Projekt’s global community director Marcin Momot recommended that players make sure they have the latest Nvidia drivers installed, since that may help with some of the issues.

We are aware of the issues PC players have been reporting since last night’s release of the update. We are actively investigating all of the reports and will be providing an update on particular issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!

While the team is working on fixing the issues PC players have been reporting, please make sure to have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed as it may help with some of the problems you’re experiencing. Again, thanks everyone for your patience! https://t.co/h7G7YV5lSW

In the meantime, it’s also been recommended that players simply rollback the update, so they can return to the original game before it was updated.

This can be done on both Steam and GOG via their respective Properties and Settings menus.

Curiously, CD Projekt makes no mention of the console versions of the game, which we found, in our review, to suffer from plenty of bugs in their own right, including crashes.

No doubt all version will be patched in due time but it’s not the smooth launch that you would’ve expected from CD Projekt, considering how much damage Cyberpunk 2077 did to their reputation.
