Fragment on World’s Edge in Apex Legends is rumoured to be getting a makeover with a major change in how it works.
Season 15 brought a new map to Apex Legends, called Broken Moon, but many of the other maps, like World’s Edge, are pretty old at this point.
World’s Edge has been part of the battle royale since Season 3, which launched more than two years ago, so it’d be no surprise if you were getting a bit bored of it now.
It’s already had its fair share of makeovers but now there’s talk that a crucial area of the map will undergo an overhaul.
That area is none other than Fragment, both east and west, with developers targeting the ‘streamer building’ in particular, according to insider Thordan Smash.
It’s no secret that Fragment is the ultimate hotspot of World’s Edge, with many skilled players congregating there, looking for blood.
‘Enjoy World’s Edge while you can, from what I heard Fragment would be updated and that streamer building would be gone,’ tweeted Thordan Smash.
He also revealed that Wattson is in line to have her own takeover, a limited-time event that usually models an area of the map after a character.
However, Wattson’s takeover will take place on Storm Point, which is one of the game’s newer maps that was introduced in Season 11.
The alleged takeover will take place at Lightning Rod on Storm Point, located on the northeast corner of the map, if the dropship starts its journey from Ship Fall.
It sure fits Wattson’s concept (pic: EA)

This doesn’t sound too crazy, as Wattson’s abilities are also themed around lightning and electricity, so it would be cool to see her at her full power.
Thordan Smash didn’t specify when these changes would be happening to Apex Legends, and, of course, EA or Respawn haven’t officially announced anything yet.
Previously, he’s also claimed that Arenas will be taken out of the game and replaced by a Control mode, although we’re still waiting for that one to happen.
As usual, it’s best to take these leaks with a grain of salt, until there’s some kind of official annoucement.
