Kate Chastain has opened up about her plans to raise her baby solo, explaining that she’s ‘happy to do it alone’.

The Below Deck icon confirmed her pregnancy news earlier this week, sharing a sweet snap of her growing bump with fans.

In a surprise appearance of Watch What Happens Live, the 39-year-old spoke of her upcoming arrival, revealing that she is due to give birth on May 8, 2023.

Speaking to host Andy Cohen, she said that it was something she had always wanted, joking: ‘I think being a chief stew really trained me for it.’

Kate has not shed light on who the father of her bundle of joy, and clarified that she was going ahead with motherhood solo.

‘I’m doing it solo and perhaps with some help, but I’m happy to do it alone,’ she told the Bravo presenter.

‘I do know but I’m saving that a little bit,’ the yachtie added of the baby’s gender.

‘I do have a name picked out, a family name.’

Kate unveiled her baby bump on her Instagram page on Tuesday, showing off her stomach in a floral patterned dress.

‘I’m already planning so many birthday theme parties for you,’ she captioned the upload, as a string of Bravolebrities and former co-stars offered their well-wishes.

She opened up about her news to People Magazine, explaining that she will be giving birth to the little one in May.

‘I am absolutely thrilled to become a mother,’ she told the publication.

‘It’s something I’ve always hoped for so this is truly a dream come true!’

Kate came to fame on season two of Below Deck and soon became a firm fan favorite, also growing a close bond with Captain Lee.

She led the interior crew for six series before making her exit in February 2020, moving over to Bravo’s Chat Room and hosting Galley Talk.

Next month, she will be back on our screens by taking part in the first season of The Traitors, on Peacock – beside Brandi Glanville and Reza Farahan.
