Last year’s Peppa Pig console game has been successful enough for Hasbro to commission a sequel that goes global.

While it was debatable whether it even counted as a video game, last year’s My Friend Peppa Pig – the franchise’s first foray into console gaming – was at least an authentic recreation of the cartoon and full of genuine effort to make something entertaining and accessible for little kids.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it proved successful and so Hasbro has enlisted original publisher Outright Games and developer Petoons for a sequel.

Billed as another interactive adventure game, it’s titled Peppa Pig: World Adventures and will take players beyond Peppa’s home and to various locations around the world.

Examples include New York City, London, Paris, and Australia (not even Sydney or anything, just Australia), which will feature all-new characters to meet and ‘exciting quests.’

Whether this means the sequel will feature any traditional gameplay compared to the basic point ‘n’ click formula of the first game is another question entirely.

Although things do appear to be a bit more engaging judging by the trailer, with Peppa and her family piloting vehicles like a plane and a submarine.

The surprisingly creditable character creator is also back, but kids will be able to make an entire family of Peppa Pig OCs, as well as create and decorate their own house in Peppa’s neighbourhood.

Hopefully, though, with the game slated for current gen consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the loading times have been improved over the last game.

‘We’re thrilled Peppa is back with Outright Games for her next video game, Peppa Pig: World Adventures,’ says studio CEO Beth Goss. ‘We’re enjoying the challenge of building on the fantastic reception to last year’s My Friend Peppa Pig and making this game bigger with more locations, characters and fun!’

Peppa Pig: World Adventures launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on March 17.
