The Traitors’ Maddy Smedley delivered quite the bombshell to her fellow contestants on Thursday’s episode, revealing herself to be an EastEnders and Casualty actress.
Maddy is one of the Faithfuls trying to ‘banish’ the Traitors before they get to the cash prize of £120,000 in the gripping show presented by Claudia Winkleman.
The reality TV contestant had previously told her fellow housemates, who are all living in a lavish Scottish Highlands castle, that she worked full-time in a care home, and declined to disclose her other job.
Maddy explained: ‘I didn’t want you to think I was dodgy if I came in here and said I was an actor. I’ve played it as myself.’
While it’s very much the truth that Maddy works at a care home, the performer also played homeless character Rita in an episode in EastEnders and ‘someone without a womb’ in Casualty.

And after a bit of digging, fans have found the clip in which she met Bailey Baker whilst out on the streets.
Maddy’s character Rita hit our screens during an episode back in May 2021.
While most viewers are obsessed with Maddy and loving her ‘iconic’ scene, others have been leaving nasty comments – but she’s hit back brilliantly.

To one troll, whose comment has since been deleted, Maddy wrote: ‘Also have played the tin man without a heart too if you wanna add that one to your list. Merry Christmas hun.’
Elsewhere, she admitted rewatching her revelation on the BBC show was ‘horrific’.
‘Well that was a horrific watch but you know what I’m rich with love. And that’s all that matters right!’ she wrote.

During Thursday’s episode, Maddy was the last contestant standing as all the other’s chose someone who they trusted the most.
She was then offered a £3,000 prize if she quit the game, and banished herself, or the chance to prove herself to the team as a Faithful and stay in the competition.
It’s safe to say she’s certainly proved herself in the game.
The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
